While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us
Yes, God hates sin and the wrath of God abides upon those who reject Christ (John 3:36); but let us never stray from the great Biblical doctrine of God’s wondrous love for mankind, which allowed our salvation through Christ, by his ultimate sacrifice on the cross for our sins. John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Notice the words, “God so loved THE WORLD.”
Romans 5:8 says, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” God in His foreknowledge knew how sinful and rotten mankind would be, but He looked beyond our faults and saw our need for redemption. Jesus Christ died, was buried and rose again from the grave to TAKE AWAY our sins. Jesus did this by the shedding of His own physical blood. 1st Peter 1:18,19, “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold… But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” Christ died for all men, because God loves all of us, even the vilest and most unlovable of sinful men.
Rivers Of Regret
God loves mankind more than we could love Him in return.
Luke 19:10 – “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” 1st
John 3:16 – “Hereby perceive we the love of God, because He laid down his life for us.”
Notice the words, “the love of God.” God loves humanity, which is why He sent His Son to pay the debt for our sins. How could anyone say that God hates sinners? God DOES hate sin, and God IS angry with the wicked every day; but God equally loves each and every man, woman and child and He desires for them to repent and receive Jesus as their personal Savior.
2nd peter 3:9, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” God is “not willing that any should perish.”
Don’t allow your past sins to prevent you from living your life to the fullest in Christ. Remember, He is just a prayer away!
